There are many methods for building blade handles out of Lego brick. Over the years I have developed a combination of techniques for making handles and blades that can be easily customized once you know how to build that base structure. It’s most important to have a strong core and handle that will hold under stress from torque when swing it.
I like this method of sword/knife handle because it looks similar to a Japanese Katana in how it breaks with pieces being held in place with an end cap. This adds to the simulation of it being like a real sword. With simple modification other components could be added such as a ferrule, spacers, a peg/rivet, or lanyard hole.
Guard - Handle - Pommel
I have included a basic build guide on how to make the handle. Unfortunately the pictures are not perfect, but should get the job done. In the future I’ll work on image angle and order.
For this example I have taken a, prototype sword using this handle, apart and rebuilt it to be similar in size to the knife that I had previously posted using the same handle style. Along with step instructions for base components.
